I have used both extensively and much prefer Serato. Certain things about RB grate on me (like the lack of subcrate access) and the crappy stems.
I would say to learn on both and then decide which you prefer. Personally prefer static platters and more often than not, this is what most venues...

Rekordbox is cool but the problem is that the pioneer hardware that runs it isn't compatible with Serato so unless RB becomes industry standard...
