Every day at around noon and around 5, my AIM would disconnect and connect back 10 times in like 6 seconds and I'd end up getting either a timeout or AIM would tell me I'm signing on too soon. Now this only happens when I'm on my UKNOiTZTRiGGA screen name. It also happens whenever a file transfer is happening. Any other messaging client would stay connected and work fine, the file transfer doesn't break, everything else is fine. If I sign on a different screen name it'tl never happen, ever.

I am using AIM version 6.9.2.27. This also happens when I use AIM 5.5 & 5.9. Does this happen to anyone else? How do I fix this? Don't tell me use a different screen name. I like mine.

dont use a different sn just sign off for a while usally that happens when your on your name to muc it tends to get kicked off but you have good internet connection so it keeps signing back on quickly whichs ****s up the whole situation so either stay off the name for a while or maybe reset yuh linksys or internet modem

try uninstaling aim itself, then reinstalling it back

This has been going on for months. I tried the following:

    -Flushing DNS Cache
    -Forwarding ports for AIM
    -Resetting my modem and router
-Reinstalling the same AND different AIM client
-I went to the side of my house and checked the box where the cable lines came in from the pole. There was a 900mhz cable splitter. I replaced it with a 2GHZ splitter. The TV looks clearer and I can reach my full connection speed.

The strange thing is, this would NEVER happen with any other screen name. I don't have any screen names linked. It will only happen on that particular screen name. I tried to call my ISP but their offices are closed at 5. Anyone got any more ideas?

    heres what you do
    make a new sn
then link uknoitztrigga to that sn
then you sign in from the OTHER screen name
then switch over to uknoitztrigga when aim starts up
    just a thought

lol no. it happens on other computers also.

that's the same thing.. just another screen name signed on. both screen names are still connected separately, so same ways ittl disconnect.

    tried it.

this been happening to almost everyone
what usually happens, aim service usually reset the method (login.oscar.aol.com) every now and then, because of alot of traffic that's connecting to the method it causes the server to overflow and then crash. but this usually happens on aim 5.9 and lower.

for aim 6.0 and higher, it connects to a different method which sometimes gives the same problems as 5.9. i don't use aim 6.0 and higher so i wouldn't know... but it's much secure and sometimes it would give you 'timed out' session when you're trying to sign on. which is another bug. but i heard aim been working on that. so just give it time.

    -UPDATE

I uninstalled Viewpoint Media Player and use Ctrl+F to find anything in the registry that has to do with Viewpoint and deleted the entries. After that I restarted AIM and signed on my usual screen name. No disconnects yet. Maybe that was causing the problem. We'll see.
