Try making a new XP disc, we have iso's for that on the forum, just search for it.

You can try to repair the windows installation, do not format tho, because it will erase all your data. I'm assuming you want to recover the music files.

Also, there is a cable set/adapter that allows you to plug your hard drive into the USB, acting similar to a Flash Drive or External HDD. You can google where to buy it from.
Then all you'd have to do is remove the HD from the laptop and plug up to another computer.

adapter tool is called a hard drive enclosure .laptops use 2.5 inch...first try a repair as trev said.if its not booting from da cd. double check ur boot sequence in bios and try da repair. if repair fails but u can boot from a cd, i recommend u download a live cd and boot with that, den simply copy paste ur music onto a flash drive if u got one, you can then reformat or w.e..anyways u can get dat enclosure Here

no dappa... not a hard drive enclosure.

    Heres what i use

    http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-30504-Serial-Adapter/dp/B000UO6C5S

no enclosure.. plugs right into your hard drive and turns it into an external.

Thanks all but I guess the most worry free way is the adapter and then formant and reinstall. That way i dont have to worry about boot sequences and cds.
    Once again
    THANKS
