Well to start with I would always recommend the technics 1200 whether you're beginning or progressing into professionalism. I know a use Tech's is quite heavy on the price and a brand-new one is extremely heavy on the price. So I think you should look into cheaper brand that offers direct drive. I believe Numark, Gemini, pioneer and reloop has some table that offer direct drive. Look around and compare the price see what in your budget. Hop this helps.
