What's happening to reggae and dancehall?

    Lately it seems A LOT of the reggae and dancehall coming out of Jamaica sounds more like R&B than Jamaican music.
    It's the case of the DISAPPEARING BOOMING bass line typically heard in reggae and dancehall in exchange for the heavy drum lines you usually associated with R&B... What do you think?

    Totally agreed man. The genre of music has been going downhill for years.. youths like Alkaline & Popcaan singing more R&B than anything, on top of that, all their songs sound the same. Only Charly Black, Konshens & Busy Signal can ride those hardcore dancehall riddims these days that get the people up and dancing

    very true but it seems to be the newer generation sound
