becareful with the m audio stuff do check reviews
they make POOR ****ING DRIVERS lmao

try the m audio fast track or if you have one them pci slots on that laptop there are some cards that can fit into that slot

    or the echo indigo
this might be a much better unit because its gonna be faster since it connected right up to the motherboard.
    also more convenient.

    its more money also

    good luck chap

    AND GOOGLE THE ****ING TING!

    what card you bought?

and since the speakers are integrated to the computer did you set the audio config to set the audio output to the card?

obiviously if your still getting static its because its still using the mother board card i dont think you can use the laptop speakers anymore only the outs or headphone outs on the usb card.

    and dont forget RTFM

the audio output is to the card
my laptop speakers never get static.

however the usb soundcard does and the headphone jack does
i tried different cable none of it is working.
im about 2 call HP and see what they say.

the sound card is suppose to just bypass the motherboards card and all audio and outputs of audio should be routed via the card.

what kind of card did you buy?

lmao i kno but circuitcity site is down right now lol.
i installed drivers and everything is automatically diverted to the soundcard.
    i double checked too
HP says try another charger at best buy or sumthing.
if its still happening, then i have to ship out the laptop and have them check the motherboard and power supply.
i hope its just da power cord =/

is there any static when you plug your headphones into the sound card?

    main question here.
with the charger plugged into the wall and without it?

static only occurs with a charger.
wen i plugged headpones into the 3.5mm of da sound card
    i didnt hear static
wen i plugged my system into the rca and headphone of the sound card
    their was static
the built in speakers never get static
the usb headset i bought never gets static

so you only get static when you plug your system into the card with the charger connected?
now without the charger connected is there any static?

ok jones let me make this as clear as possible
i only get static wen the charger is plugged in even with and without the sound card.
the only time i dont get static is when i plug actual headphones into the sound card or use my usb headset on the laptop
everything is perfect without the charger.

ill try out sum better wires wen i find sum better wires.
