Phaze bro I think when they were talking about something new they meant how the song was composed; or the way it was sung. They kept literally copying the old Indian songs rhythms and re-singing it.

The crowds need something new and that doesn't sound like shit. To be honest majority of the chutney nowadays is trash. Its actually forcing me to go back to old time chutney songs. The greed for money is literally killing out this market. Majority of these singers, its like they don't feel anything about music. They Autotune almost everything, which right now in Indian cinema is starting to fade away because the couple years they did Autotune their music they lost a huge amount of consumers(internationally and domestically). The beats are kind of getting old and when you know someones trying to re-sing something, doesn't that little voice in your head go, "Damn what the hell is this " ?

Indian music is starting to get back good, they started using "real singers", maybe chutney will do the same.

Okay but you don't see the soca genre as much struggling with this problem, you don't see house music struggling with this problem, you don't see pop struggling with this topic, you don't see hip hop struggling with this problem, you don't see reggae struggling with this problem, you don't see reggaeton struggling with this problem, you don't see basically any other genre struggling with this problem, so why must chutney artists struggle with this, they're no one special, they just got so far into this genre, that they sang about all that they know about which is rum, and gyal and dis and dat, and they used all the indian melodies and they have nothing to bite off of now so now they can't think for themselves, so dont bring dah rass here.
